There is growing discussion here and in price chat about how gTrade can maximize its impact in an increasingly crowded perpetuals market. It’s important to recognize that our current $250k prize pool is small compared to other competitions (e.g., SNX at $1 million) and even smaller relative to the multi-million-dollar airdrops dominating the Perp DEX space. The Problem: Competing platforms offer continuous incentives (points, airdrops, and other rewards) often worth millions. gTrade’s current $250k earmarked for the trading competition is not large enough compared to peers in this space. The Proposal: Expand the trading competition size through a larger OC pull. Our competitors’ incentives are substantially larger than our upcoming $250k trading competition. The goal of this contest is to attract and incentivize traders to either try gTrade for the first time or return to experience v10 and the new funding-fee model. To draw traders away from farming other Perp DEXs, we’re considering to increase the size of our trading competition. This would require a larger OC pull, which could be used to boost trader rewards and incentives. Current contest: $250k Proposed range: $300k–$500k (sourced from OC pull) It’s clear that traders are driven by incentives. As a result, the market has become an arms race of rewards, with each Perp DEX competing to attract traders through increasingly large and sometimes speculative incentive programs. gTrade can respond by expanding the size of its trading competition in addition to other trader retention measures to be discussed at a later time. Is there community appetite to move this proposal forward through governance? An OC pull will require a community vote. We want to hear your thoughts on this asap.
